The holidays are fast approaching and this easy challenge will help us keep our bellies full with proper vitamins and minerals and our body healthy and happy for the holidays!! Where to start? Dr. Daniel Wang, from Harvard Medical School and Brigham Women's Hospital states, the biggest health benefits come from eating leafy green vegetables (kale, spinach) and fruits and vegetables rich in Vitamin C and beta carotene (citrus, berries, carrots). These all play a role in preventing cancer and are a primary source of antioxidants. So start by hitting the grocery store, prepping yourself and getting ready to begin! You don't have to go crazy we just want to start creating good habits during the holidays and going into the New Year! Add some blueberries to your oatmeal, some sautéed spinach, onions and peppers to your eggs. Lunch options could be a sale with your favorite fruits and vegetables with spinach and kale for your base. Add some strawberries to your yogurt. At dinnertime prepare steamed broccoli or a medley of yellow squash and zucchini. There are so many options!! Try a variety and have fun!
